Feds Continue Attack on America

Not since Sherman burned his way across Georgia has the federal government so openly attacked the interests of Americans.  In striking down the Arizona Immigration Law, the government both admitted they couldn't do the job and opposed Arizona assisting them in doing it.  It is as if the federal government wants to turn this nation over to a group of people who come to this country illegally.

Immigration is essential for this nation and the world.  Uncontrolled immigration will destroy this nation.  It is simple and straightforward.  No nation can support unlimited immigration.  The people in power must know this.  The only conclusion I can reach is that they are intending to destroy this nation.

Without the threat of secession by the states, the federal government is uncontrolled and uncontrollable.  It will be the death of our nation.  The unsustainable debt, plus takeover of financial institutions and health care are just a few of the ways your freedoms are eroding on a daily basis.

An all powerful federal government is currently on a path to destroy this nation.  What a sad legacy for our children and grandchildren.

Jayco And Sirius Ready

We bought a new RV about a month ago.  I checked it out six ways from Sunday, though I'm not exactly sure what that phrase means.  Most everything seemed to be working just fine.  Now if you have never bought a motor home just think of it like buying a house and a car attached.  There are a lot of systems to understand and you can lose the little things when figuring out how the big things, like AC, work.  I lost one of the little things.

That's not to say it was all my fault.  I just read the label and assumed the label meant what the label said.  Ooops!  My bad.  Yep, it is there today.  The sign on my radio says, "Sirius ready."  I looked up the word ready in the dictionary and it means pretty much what the entire free world believes it to mean: except for Jayco.

The best I can tell is that Jayco believes Sirius ready means the radio is ready for you to buy some additional parts so that it is really ready.  Hmmm.

So while I'm pretty well satisfied so far with the RV; just a note of caution.  If you are thinking of buying an RV from Jayco, don't believe anything until you try it out.  Of course that is pretty good advice for anything you purchase.

When I'm riding down the road not listening to Sirius I'm thinking bad thoughts about Jayco.  But if ready doesn't mean ready Jayco, then I'm pretty confused about that warranty thing.

No No Nevada

I love Las Vegas.  I love their slogan, "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas."  Unfortunately for the United States Harry Reid stays neither in Vegas nor Nevada.  It would be hard to imagine a more uninspiring "leader" for the United States Senate or a group of Boy Scouts.  It would be hard to imagine a political figure more damaging to the United States.  Oh, well beside Obama of course.

Please my Nevada friends, for the sake of this nation, do not send Harry Reid back to Washington.  He, along with the administration and other liberals, is spending this nation into third world status.  I have always thought of Nevadans as pioneers and people who stand on their own two feet.  Harry Reid is creating a nation of dependents who contribute little or nothing to our future.

If you send Harry back to Washington I'll just have to find another place to do my gambling.  Mississippi comes to mind and it is a lot closer.

Unemployment Or Retirement

The U.S. Senate is scheduled to pass yet another extension of unemployment insurance.  They will use money they don't have to pay unemployment payments for over two years.  Would you hire someone who has been drawing unemployment for two years?

Unemployment insurance is a good thing and for six months or so it can be a bridge from unemployment to employment.  However, there comes a time when it ceases to be a bridge and becomes a way of life.

If you haven't found the job you want in six months or so it is time to take that next step.  Clean offices, cut grass, flip burgers, work two jobs, do something to get off your duff and be working.

One thing is for certain.  It is easier to find a job if you have a job.

The Self Destruction of the United States

SPRING SEMESTER - 2097

This three hour course will study the history of the United States.  We will explore why the United States was merely one of a long line of nations and nation states that began with noble ideals and ended when those ideals were corrupted by government profligacy.  We will only briefly touch on the leaders who brought down the country, but will try and develop a better understanding of the people and factors that both created and destroyed the nation in less than three centuries.

The United States, as you will learn, became a society unwilling to protect itself from those who would destroy it from without or within.  The destruction of the nation came quickly and oddly enough immediately followed a period when it was the most powerful nation on earth.  Within sixty years after what was called World War II, won by the United States, there was political, economic and military decline so rapid that it was barely noticed by the majority of citizens.

Attacks from without and within by religious terrorists were only partly responsible for the decline.  We will attempt to understand a concept known as political correctness which also seemed to prevent the adequate protection of the nation’s people.  An example of this political correctness might be that while the terrorists were all from one religion and primarily middle eastern, for fear of damaging individuals who met this profile, great effort was made not to investigate these individuals until after they had committed a terrorist act.

The political correctness went so far as to keep the government from even using the term terrorist.  While it seems difficult to believe now, many people died because of their unwillingness to identify and stop a known enemy.  Our course will discuss this seemingly unnatural failure of a basic human instinct; self preservation.

During the same period of time, early 21st century, government spending became enormous and unsustainable.  Health care, food, shelter, and many other goods and services were considered rights by the population.  In order to make certain that the populace were afforded these rights the government took more and more of the wealth of those who produced.  The obvious end result was less production of wealth.  This course will not only provide the factual data, but will attempt to understand the reasoning processes leading to the inevitable decline.

We will examine the destruction of health care brought on by passage of what was called universal health care.  Without going into great detail, it should be noted that this plan increased taxation and at the same time ended quality health care in the nation.  Within twenty years pharmaceutical manufacturers, physicians, and many in related fields fled to tiny nations who welcomed their creativity.

We will briefly explore their failure to control the nation’s borders which also contributed to the inability of the government to provide promised goods and services.  Aptly named illegal aliens by the millions lined up for health care and other services.  More and more the United States became a hodgepodge of people without a similar culture or language.  They divided themselves into groups each competing against the others for the ever shrinking wealth of the nation.

We will examine what would make a nation refuse to utilize its own natural resources.  It will be clear that if the United States had used its own resources it would have survived much longer.  It was a nation that sent a substantial amount of its wealth overseas to countries that were not friendly, while at the same time refusing to use the resources under its own soil.

As we look back on failed nations it is always interesting to note how close they came to taking another path.  As we study the failure of this nation we will see that changing a few votes in their legislative branch could well have sent the country on an entirely different course.  In the case of the United States, however, the most interesting point is likely the extremely rapid decline.  Until that point in history no nation had reached such a peak and fallen to such depths in so short a time.

By focusing on a failed nation with every tool to be successful you should take from this course valuable lessons in self governance.

Feds Sue Arizona

It was very disheartening to hear today that the Federal Government has filed suit against the Arizona immigration law.  What a shame that our federal government not only fails to do its duty, but actively seeks to prevent states from protecting their citizens.

Not in my lifetime have I witnessed a federal government actively working to destroy our nation.  Not since reconstruction has the federal government actually worked to cause its citizens harm.

We are rapidly approaching the situation that existed prior to the War Between The States.  If states do not act to control the federal government we are doomed since it is clear the federal government will not control itself.

This time it will not be the South acting alone.  We will be joined by states in the southwest and northwest.  The states are the final line of defense against a federal government that is clearly acting against the interests of the very citizens it claims to protect.

Immigrants are clearly an important part of what makes this nation what it is today.  I am not against immigrants, but surely we have the right to protect our own borders.  Not only people wanting to work come across the border, but drug smugglers, terrorists, and criminals as well.

The federal government is routinely failing to provide the services it is mandated by the Constitution to provide while increasing its power in areas it has no authority.  Where are we headed?  Take a look at Greece.  Is that what you want our country to be?  I pray not.

Check Out That New RV Before Taking It Home

Over a period of several months we attended an RV Show, visited several dealers and spent quality time in various units. After settling on a Class C we drove one identical to the one we wanted. (The unit we wound up purchasing was not at the dealer at that time.) Prior to accepting our unit we conducted a thorough walk through and also drove it. Buying a new unit gives us some comfort since the unit is under warranty. However, before leaving we ran every system and moved everything that could be moved. We used the RV with and without shore power and in general put it through its paces.

To give you an idea of how things can go wrong; we spent some hours learning about and operating systems. The radio was clearly marked Sirius Ready. It was the one thing I didn’t check on prior to leaving the dealership. According to Jayco, Sirius Ready, doesn’t mean the radio is ready. It means the radio is ready for you to purchase several items to make it ready. I will complain, but it is my slip up that let this happen. So again, I say, check everything.

An RV has allowed us to go places we would not have gone without one. We have been in 48 States and several Canadian Provinces. The experiences we’ve had make RVing our favorite mode of travel.
